A house for 2 in Cortona - Including Private Garden. So Close to the City, and yet ... far away

Villa Nido
(The birds-nest of Cortona) Perfect for two!

.......Why have so many people fallen in love with the charm of Cortona?  Although the central area of this lovely  and ancient city is well known to many, there remains the secret and ever-so-charming quarter where this hidden gem will inspire and charm you rather like the first time Frances Mayes was memorized on her first visit to this truly special place.

This old-detached house, situated in the "Poggio", the upper part of the city,  reflects the same history and characteristics of Cortona. The house traces its history back to 1400

A lovely  home -  perfect for two (possibly 3) looking to enjoy the richness of this remarkable city.  Spread over three floors  with everything looking and being simply  perfect.  This is a really lovely home and a great place to enjoy Cortona along with the other Tuscan hill towns  and its incredible countryside.

The lower part of the property houses the kitchen and dining room with two entrances to a scented garden with pergola and large stone table for Al fresco dining.  and the kitchen has everything you might need.  On the second floor is a welcoming and relaxing sitting room with views out onto the square and the monastery.  A calm ambiance perfect for reading and to enjoy Tuscan wine in front of the ancient fireplace.  On the third floor is a the bedroom with comfortable bed and a bathroom with powerful shower - and a view of the lake Trasimeno!

The property overlooks the enchanting square of the Pescaia.  Quiet, shaded by leafy trees, surrounded by monasteries and churches, ‘Nido nel Poggio" is just a stones throw from the ancient Etruscan town walls and a short walk to the historic center.  This place allows you to enjoy enjoy the breathtaking landscape of Tuscany and, easy access into the glamorous life that the city offers.  Far from the busy crowds and yet so close for all you might need.

This was our trip of a lifetime but now a trip we want to make every year!.Nido Del Poggio, is a place that tugged at the heart strings and made us fell so relaxed and charmed. Even now,  there isn't  a day goes by without thinking about the lovely time we had there. The Villa is in a perfect location  immersed into (real) Tuscan life and so convenient for us to really explore this amazing town. It was our own paradise, like waking up in a painting! From the wonderful people to the incredible food and wine, Cortona was full of unexpected, amazing  memories. Our villa host  Terry,  was kind, remarkably warm and gracious and went out of his way for us long before we arrived and after.  The owner, Elizabeth who speaks good English too, was very friendly and helpful. It was absolutely magical and we  can not wait to return!
